The tour for the Madrid 2026 International Numismatic Event will consist of a guided visit to the Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. The visit will take place on Sunday, July 5, at 10:00 a.m. and will be led by official museum guides in groups of no more than 20 people. The meeting point, and the drop-off point, will be the museum entrance itselfThe tour will last approximately two hours.
During our guided tour of the Museum of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, we will explore one of the most extraordinary and comprehensive art galleries in Madrid, spanning from the Renaissance to the avant-garde movements of the 20th century. The central theme of the collection is Francisco de Goya, who was a member of the institution and whose thirteen major works we will be able to admire, including his famous Autorretratos, El entierro de la sardina and the portrait of Manuel Godoy. In addition, the museum houses some of the finest examples of Spanish Baroque art, such as the solemn Mercedarian friars from Zurbarán and the enigmatic Sueño del caballero of Antonio de Pereda, along with unique international pieces, such as La Primavera of Arcimboldo and paintings by masters such as Rubens, El Greco y Van Dyck. The experience will be rounded out by a magnificent exhibition of sculpture—highlights of which include the deeply moving Dolorosa of Pedro de Mena and the San Bruno of Manuel Pereira—, a journey through the 19th-century academicism of the Madrazo and Sorolla, and a grand finale in the 20th century featuring figures such as Juan Gris y Picasso, establishing a first-rate artistic scene.
